Corona Virtual School Day 1

We are easing into the academics as today was supposed to be a day off, and teachers are posting the full learning materials on Wednesday. This is more about establishing routine for us.
So, here we go!
We started our day at 8...but we had a slow start. I thought we would be ready for learning by 8:30. I might need to move wake-up 15 minutes earlier. The kids were arguing about what we would start learning...so we took a walk. Usually, M1 would refuse, but he joined.
Social distancing in downtown Bethesda is HARD. Too many people, especially at 8:30 am. There are idiots who walk their dogs off leash, and then the dogs come running over, breaking the contact, which also forces their idiot owners to breach the 3-6 feet, then they act like I’m overreacting and being rude that I don’t want them or their dog invading our space. Just keep your dog on a leash! My son is planning to make a video about it as one of his learning projects today.
We came home, drafted our schedule together. The kids seemed to be more on board when they saw the plan and picked the order of things. That works for today...maybe.

Photo of handwritten schedule reads: Monday 8:30-9 walk dog, 9:00-9:15 planning, 9:15 - 12:00 academics, M1 - coding, reading, video on dogwalking; M2 reading, coding, dreambox, art; 12:00 lunch; 1:00 Animal livestream, 1:30 M1 music playdate, M2 piano w/ friend (virtual); 2:00-3:00 playtime, 3:00 - 3:30 outside, 3:30 google hangout with friends; 4:30-5:30 cleaning/chores; 5:30 tech time!!
Now, let’s hope I can manage my conference calls, get my work done, & no one kills each other. We agreed on no tech (other than for educational purposes) before 5 pm. I’m also hoping to move these to a blog today, & have the kids write/post various things as entries.
